INVITATION LETTER

If you need an invitation letter for Czech visa application for the IE’15 conference, please, send email to Dr. Pavel Čech (pavel.cech@uhk.cz) with the following information: Title, Full name as it appears in your passport, Gender, Date of Birth, Full Address, Email, Citizenship, Passport number with date of expiry. If you are an author of IE’15 paper (main conference paper, workshop paper etc.), please, also include the paper title. We gladly provide an invitation letter to all authors of accepted papers. Participants without a paper can be provided with an invitation letter upon payment. A pdf file of the letter will be emailed to you; if you need the original letter, you will need to provide your detail postal address for shipping.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Passport or national ID card is not required (but advised) for EU nationals arriving from a passport-free Schengen country. Valid passport is required for all other citizens.

TAXI

Taxi drivers in Prague often misuse the information of tourists about prices in Prague and charge you double – for example from the airport. Be aware of the fact that in Prague taxi services cost cca 20-28 CZK/km, boarding is cca for 40 CZK. You call either call the taxi operating company or find it on the Internet.

You may also download an application for your smartphone called liftago, which could make your travelling easier by ordering taxi in the right time and the right place.

WEATHER

Summer in the Czech Republic is usually mild (20-27°C/70-80°F) and humid. The highest temperatures can reach 30-35°C/85-95°F (occasionally higher) for short periods. Sudden showers and thunderstorms are common, so it is advised to bring an umbrella.
